Fall 2015 Welcome Letter to Parents & Guardians

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

The Westborough Fine Arts Education Association (WFAEA) is the parent support organization for the fine arts in the Westborough Public Schools. We provide support for all grades in our nationally recognized fine arts program. Our support ranges from feeding students at concerts (have you ever seen how much pizza 400 band musicians can eat in an hour?) to providing recorders and hammer dulcimers to our youngest musicians to funding a meeting between the cast of last fall’s play and one of the playwrights. We also chaperone trips, sort uniforms, distribute tickets, fund transportation, produce the annual Season for the Arts program, organize the annual High School Gala Concert, and provide scholarships to graduating seniors, among many other efforts.

To continue to support our students and their dedicated teachers requires the help of many parents of current and former fine arts students. We would love to have you join us in our mission. Whether you can spare an hour or two to help sell tickets at a concert or want to coordinate some of our larger fundraising activities such as producing the Season for the Arts program or organizing the annual High School Gala Concert there’s a place for you in WFAEA. Please take a moment to fill out the enclosed membership form, and don’t forget to let us know how you would like to get involved by completing the volunteer opportunities form on the back. Please note that all memberships at or above the Cheer level are entitled to a family concert pass. If you are only interested in the pass, please fill out the form on the back of this letter. To encourage membership, Superintendent Bock has graciously given us a $250 credit toward activity fees that we will award to a member whose name is drawn out of a hat at our October meeting. Please make sure to join online or mail your membership back to the address below by September 30 to be entered in the drawing. Please also consider making a donation to the fine arts student activity fund to help cover fees for students eligible for free or reduced price school meal programs. 

This year WFAEA will be undertaking a fundraising campaign to pay for the much needed replacement of marching band uniforms and women’s concert gowns. More information about how we plan to reach our goal of $37,000 on top of the money already committed will be forthcoming, but please consider adding a donation to the uniform fund on the membership form or online at

We encourage you to join us at our monthly meetings, typically the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the high school library. Due to the late start of the school year, our first meeting of the year is September 8, 2015. Please join us
